The 80s –
East meets West

The eastern hemisphere of the earth made a name for itself as a strong economic force. Asia – representing Japan – became a symbol for efficient production. The automotive industry required increasingly faster production times with improved quality assurance. Around 50 to 60 electric armatures are being used in the average car – this showed the need for balancing technology that was now being used in the industry.

Increasingly faster cars and new types of tyre made unbalance a challenge. The vehicle manufacturers were therefore starting to balance tyres already at series production stages. Schenck balancing machines responded to the large-scale requirements of the industry with their high degree of automation.
