The early 70s –
More safety

The economic boom changed the dimensions in energy requirement. Simultaneously, the first energy crisis made people think more seriously about efficiency. Energy production from coal, water and nuclear power was promoted. Reliability in operating large technical plants was now taking on an increasingly important role. These plants boasting dimensions previously unheard of presented new demands with regard to quality and safety. For this purpose, Schenck developed high-revs balancing and centrifugal equipment.
The series RI and DI for turbines and generators made it possible to systematically balance rotors up to c. 80 t total weight for the first time.
