A Versatile Portable Balancer with Numerous Capabilities
Rotor unbalance is responsible for more than 50% of machine and plant faults. The SmartBalancer 4 from Schenck has been developed to solve this problem directly on-site. This portable measuring unit allows service and maintenance technicians to identify and correct for vibration and unbalance on rotating equipment installed in the field. The highly efficient measuring unit offers a wide range of analysis functions including a new SmartBalancing mode.
The SmartBalancer 4 is a portable balancer for preventive maintenance, quality assurance and repair technicians. The SB 4 can analyze rotors of any size and weight in-situ at speeds of between 120 and 80,000 rpm using up to 6 sensors simultaneously, and field balancing in two planes. Several analysis functions allow for an even more comprehensive evaluation of machine condition.
User Friendly and Packed with Features
The Smartbalancer is designed for ease of use with its robust touchscreen, high-resolution color display, clear graphical display of measured values, and intuitive user guidance.
The new SmartBalancing mode combines measurement of overall vibration and frequency analysis within the balancing process. Instead of mulitple measurements, this measuring function allows all basic analysis to be carried out in a single measuring step before, during, and after the balancing process. This saves time on site and provides a clear overview of the machine status at all times. The SmartBalancer 4 calculates the necessary unbalance correction in 1 or 2 planes, displays the results in a vector diagram, and analyses the vibration at up to 6 measuring points.
The range of applications of the SmartBalancer 4 can be extended even further with the advanced analysis package to include even more detailed FFT frequency analysis, bearing envelope spectra to determine machine bearing condition, time and phase measurements as well as a bump test.
Analysis and balancing data are stored directly in the unit. After measurement, these can be transferred directly to a PC as a balancing report or screenshot.
The device is part of the new handheld product range, which also includes the Smart VibroAnalyzer 90 & 95.
